DESCRIPTION:

Ali H. . He is a Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to adaptive filtering and estimation algorithms. His research has attracted several recognitions including the 2003 Kuwait Prize, 2005 Terman Award, and several IEEE Best Paper Awards. Sayed is Professor of Electrical Engineering at UCLA, where he established and directs the Adaptive Systems Laboratory

Adaptive filtering is a topic of immense practical and theoretical value, having applications in areas ranging from digital and wireless communications to biomedical systems. The book consists of eleven parts?each part containing a series of focused lectures and ending with bibliographic comments, problems, and computer projects with MATLAB solutions.. This book enables readers to gain a gradual and solid introduction to the subject, its applications to a variety of topical problems, existing limitations, and extensions of current theories

"Best in the field" according to CK. A very excellent book. I purchased the older version "Fundamentals of adpative filtering" after reading all the positive reviews of it. The claity with which that book is written continues in this one which is an update of that one. There is not a line here that you will say Ha?. Highly recommended.. an_avid_brat said Plenty of examples, but not well motivated and sometimes confusing. Disclaimer: I took a course using this book and only studied the first three parts (optimal estimation, linear estimation and stochastic gradient algorithms).Part I of the book covers optimal least mean squares (i.e. MMSE) estimation of a quantity given some set of observations. It concludes that, in the general case, the optimal estimator is very difficult to compute. This leads to Part II, Linear Estimation, in which the central theme is to linearly estimate some quantity given a set of observations. Part III covers some . Excellent book Adequately explained the basic concepts of adaptive filters. Provide enough example to self study. I have recently started working in the areas of adaptive filter algorithms and this book really helps me getting up to speed with them. Highly recommended for graduate students and practicing engineers.

The book consists of eleven parts—each part containing a series of focused lectures and ending with bibliographic comments, problems, and computer projects with MATLAB solutions available to all readers. From the Back CoverAdaptive FiltersAdaptive filtering is a topic of immense practical and theoretical value, having applications in areas ranging from digital and wireless communications to biomedical systems. Now, preserving the style and main features of the earlier award-winning publication, Fundamentals of Adaptive Filtering (2005 Terman Award), the author offers readers and instructors a concentrated, systematic, and up-to-date treatment of the subject in this valuable new book.Adaptive Filters allows readers to gain a gradual and solid introduction to the subject, its applications to a variety of topical problems, existing limitations, and extensions of current theories. Additional features include:Numerous tables, figures, and projects
