DESCRIPTION:
Every man longs to know his masculinity - yearns to touch the core of his maleness. The Quest for Maleness explodes many of the myths surrounding masculinity. Topics include: How to access true creativity. Getting to grips with gender. The effects in men’s lives of over-dominant mothers and weak fathers. Yet, why is this quest usually so fruitless? Why are true creativity, excitement and fulfilment lacking in so many men’s lives today? In this book, Theun Mares shows that the knowledge of what it means to be male has been partly lost, and partly distorted through myth and social conditioning. It traces a new map for men to understand themselves, their deepest fears and longings, and it provides the tools to enable them to unfold their full potential. Exposing the truths behind myths of maleness.. Revealing the real nature of male sexuality, Theun shows how men can access this in order to regain their hidden power and creativity. "Beyond the face value" according to Algosa. A strange, and thus a very interesting book! One is never sure of what he is feeling or thinking when reading this book. Their journeys into the unknown seemed to me the essence of what manhood was all about. The modern world, by comparison, seemed a place bereft of new frontiers. I did what I could to reconcile myself to a mundane existence where all earthly geography had been conquered, a world of nine to five jobs where everyone seemed wired to a p. "simple thinking" according to A Customer. The quest for maleness is never going to be found in a book ,though a book can be useful, nor is that quest going to be suscessful if you still blame your mother for your short comings as a person , as a male.Theun does alot of blaming and I wonder why an adult male has to resort to that? In this book his own unresolved issues are thinly covered with psuedo toltec dogmatic bable.Even though he mentions homosexuals as not being true men , he asks that you accept his own expereince as proof eand he talks
“At last a book addressing the many issues surrounding masculinity that men have feared and not dared to confront. -- Tribute (RSA)
