book lover said Perfect for kids!. There are lots of compilations of Hans Christian Andersen stories out there. In my opinion, this Taschen compilation is one of the best for kids. I decided to buy this book because I already have the Taschen edition of Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm. This book has lived up to what I've come to expect from Taschen: good translations, fabulous illustrations, good quality paper and (in my opinion), good binding.Also, this is important to note: I am reviewing the HARDCOVER version.. The production, with the illustrations from many different sources, is magnificent. From that point of view it is a book that one might still have as an adult to read to one’s children and grandchildren – and to one’s self. In fact, I still have my own beautifully illustrated Dutch translation (Scheltema & Holkema, Amsterdam, fourth printing, not dated – but I am 80.
