Voice & Data Communications Handbook, Fifth Edition (McGraw-Hill Communication Series) only purchase if required I was required to purchase this for a class. That being said, I was surprised that an actual college professor would put this book in front of students. It takes an approach of over simplifying things and tries to compare technological concepts to ridiculous things. The author goes off on tangents that do not add to the readers grasp of key concepts. If the author cant stay focused, how can the reader?I would not recommend this book if you are not required to purchase

If the author can't stay focused, how can the reader?I would not recommend this book if you are not required to purchase it.. Kenneth B. Paton said A Basic Phone Service Guide. This book worked well for the class I took. I actually ended up using the Web for a reference more than the book. I found it a bit confusing for my style of learning. It goes from extremely basic to mid-level. The questions offered in the book are not answered easily by simply using the book itself which was frustrating. Also, I found a few inaccuracies, or at least conflicting information when referencing the Web. Since the Web concurred on several well known sites, I am concerned the book was the issue.. Thomas Harris said Five Stars. great product
